Croyde
Croyde is a picturesque village on Devon’s Gold Coast with an award-winning beach that is loved by surfers of all abilities. The beach not only has superb surfing but at the north end are a great set of rockpools to explore. Other nearby beaches to try include Saunton Sands which is also popular with surfers to the south and Putsborough beach to the north. Putsborough is one end of a beach which stretches all the way to Woolacombe.
Locally golf is available at the famous Saunton Golf course and if you fancy horse riding the local stables are a short walk away.
Croyde itself is well served with a variety of pubs, bars and cafes to suit many tastes.

Walk or Cycle
The Tarka Trail, over 180 miles in length takes a looping route through North and Mid Devon, from the rugged Atlantic Coast, the estuaries of the two rivers of Tarka the otter fame, the Rivers Taw and Torridge through rural Devon Countryside onto the northern Slopes of Dartmoor, and the source of the River Taw. It can be joined in nearby Braunton.
Coastal Walks
The South West Coast Path National Trail – 630 miles of superb coastal walking. From Minehead on the edge of the Exmoor National Park to the shores of Poole Harbour in Dorset. The path runs along the coast at Croyde, there is a short circular walk in the immediate area as well as longer ones towards Braunton or Woolacombe. Dog Friendly Policy
Dogs are welcome at Sitting Pretty by prior arrangement only. We ask that you bring everything that you need for your dog AND ensure that your dog is up to date with all flea and other parasite treatments (wormed etc). Please do not allow your dog to sleep on the beds, however we do provide washable throws for the settees – which your dog(s) are welcome to sit on. Please do NOT allow dogs on the settees without the throws. PLEASE pooperscoop both at Sitting Pretty and everywhere your dog poos.
